Arms, alcohol recovered from Papiya’s residence

The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered a large amount of illegal money, including weapons, ammunition and alcohol, during a raid at Shamima Nur Papiya's residence.
The drive has been conducted on Sunday at her residence in the capital's Farmgate area, confirmed Assistant Director (Media) of RAB's Law and Media Branch ASP Sujoy Sarkar.
More details will be revealed at a press conference held at the media centre of RAB, he said.
Papiya's husband Mofizur Rahman Chowdhury Sumon, 38, and his associate Sabikkhor Khandokar, 29, were arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 11:30 am on Saturday when they were trying to flee to Delhi. Following their information, Papiya and her personal assistant Sheikh Tayeba, 22, were arrested from the hotel Westin.
