'Armed Forces Income Tax Fair' begins

‘Armed Forces Income Tax Fair’ has kicked off at Sena Malancho in Dhaka Cantonment aiming to develop the tax collection culture. 

The two-days-long fair, organized by the Armed Forces Division and the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Tax Zone-9, will continue till Thursday. 

Major General Mohammad Humayun Kabir inaugurated the fair at 9.30 am on Wednesday. During the inauguration, Ziauddin Mahmud, member of NBR (tax administration and human resources management) was present. The function was presided over by Md Mahmudur Rahman, tax commissioner of tax zone 9. 

In the inaugural speech, Major General Humayun Kabir said that paying tax the members of the military forces are playing a vital role in the development of the country. 

He thanked the NBR for income tax returns were more than over the past years. The army official also praised the National Board of Revenue for organizing the fair.

Major General Humayun Kabir also urged the board to organize such fairs at other places of the country for the military. 

Earlier, ‘Income Tax Fair’ 2018 was held in Dhaka and other divisional cities across the country aiming to provide better services to the taxpayers and include more taxpayers in the tax net. The week-long fair was run for seven days at divisional headquarters between November 13 and 19.
