COVID antigen testing will begin in the country from next month, said Prof. Dr. Meerjady Sabrina Flora, Additional Director General (Planning and Development) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

She said this at an information meeting held at the conference room of the DGHS on Wednesday.

Sabrina Flora said antigen testing has been delaying due to not sure which antigen kit is best or effective. Although the effectiveness tests of the two kits approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) have already been completed.

“Antigen testing in the country will start from next month. This program will be started in 10 districts that do not have an RT-PCR testing system. However, if the suspect patient is not positive in the antigen test, he must undergo a PCR test,” she added.
