Anti-narcotic drive in capital, 62 held

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 62 people for involvement in selling and consuming drugs in an anti-narcotic drive in the capital during the last 24 hours till 6 am Monday.
DMP Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations (DC) Walid Hossain confirmed the matter to Daily Bangladesh. He said a total of 48 cases have been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act at the DMP police station.
During the drive, 21,945 pieces of yaba, more than 9,356 grams of heroin, 4.700-kg cannabis, 2 bottles of phencidyl, 2 liters of domestic liquor were recovered from the detained.
