Another case lodged against Helena Jahangir

Another case has been lodged against Helena Jahangir with Pallabi police station for allegedly broadcasting JoyJatra TV without permission and valid documents.
An SI of RAB-4 filed the case under the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission Act on Friday night. Two cases were filed against Helena Jahangir – one with Gulshan police station and the other with Pallabi police station.
Police produced Helena Jahangir in a Dhaka court on Friday in a case filed under the Digital Security Act with Gulshan Police Station and appealed for a remand for five days. Later, the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) last night granted her a 3-day remand.
RAB filed two separate cases against Helena Jahangir with the Gulshan police station yesterday. One under the Digital Security Act and the other under the Special Powers Act, the Narcotics Control Act and the Wildlife (Conservation and Security) Act.
Earlier, RAB arrested Helena Jahangir after a four-hour raid at her Gulshan resident in the capital. Foreign liquor, illegal walkie-talkie sets, casino equipment and deerskins were recovered from her home. After her arrest, she was taken to the RAB headquarters for questioning.
