Another 25 landless families get ‘Swapno Neer’

On the occasion of Mujib Borsho, 25 more landless and homeless families are getting houses as a gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina under the second phase of the Ashrayan-2 project at Jhenaigati in Sherpur.
Beneficiaries of these houses built on government land in the Haldigram area of the upazila are going to be directly involved in the video conference on June 20 at the inaugural function.
On the day, the keys of these houses and land documents will be handed over to them by the inauguration of the Prime Minister.
Sherpur DC Anar Kali Mahbub already visited the project site and expressed satisfaction.
According to sources, on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, new houses are being given to homeless and landless families as a gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the second phase. 25 more homeless families including disabled, beggars, rickshaw pullers, day laborers, widows and maids of Jhenaigati upazila are getting semi-pucca houses. Earlier, 50 landless families received gifts in the first phase of the project.
Beneficiaries will get two percent land ownership completely free. The disaster-tolerant with two-room colorful tin-shed houses have a veranda, kitchen, attached toilet and other facilities. Each house built on government land in Haldigram of Nalkura Union has cost Tk 1.90 lakh.
Visiting on the spot, it can be seen that two squares of colorful tin-shed houses have been built on two Shatak of land for each family. The house has two windows, a door, a brick wall and a paved floor. There are also verandas, kitchens, toilets as well as electricity and water facilities.
Jhenaigati UNO Rubel Mahmud said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is making these ‘Swapno Neer’ as gifts for helpless families on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The main objective of this government program is to improve the quality of life of the people and ensure that no one is left homeless.
