Another 16 Bir Heroic women recognized as FFs

Another 16 Bir Heroic women, who were tortured in the hand of Pakistani forces and their allies in the Great Liberation War, have been recognized as Bir Freedom Fighters.
The government has recently issued a gazette notification in this regard.
They have been recognized as per the decision of the 73rd meeting of the Jatiyo Muktijoddha Council (Jamuka). With this, the number of Bir Heroic women recognized as Bir Freedom Fighters stood at 416.
Recognized are 18 Bir Heroic woman are - Gulbahar Begum of Sunamganj, Ajufa Begum of Madaripur, Anwara Begum and Rumia Khatun of Brahmanbaria, Billa Bashini and Sefali Sikder of Pirojour, Hosne Ara Begum of Chattogram, Zahera Begum of Narsingdi, Moirom Nesa, Hazera Begum and Preeti Rani Dutt of Moulvibazar, Mosa. Fatema Begum, Mosa. Begna Begum, and Mosa. Maleka Begum of Rangpur, Shova Parveen on Noakhali, and Setara Begum of Bagerhat.
