Country’s renowned actor TV personality Aly Zaker has passed away. He breathed his last at a private hospital in the capital at 6:40 am on Friday.
Confirming his death, Golam Qudduch, president of Sammilita Sangskritik Jote, said Aly Zaker had been undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital for the past few days.
He has been battling cancer for the last 4 years. Besides, this talented cultural personality was also suffering from various old age complications, he added.
Born on 6 November 1944 at Ratanpur Union in CHattogram, Aly Zaker equally popular in television and stage dramas. At the same time, he is a leading figure in the domestic advertising industry.
Aly Jaker is also the head of Asiatic 360, an advertising agency in Bangladesh. His wife Sara Jaker is also an actress.
In 1999, the Bangladesh government awarded him the Ekushey Padak, the country’s second-highest civilian honor, for his contribution to the arts.
He has also won the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Award, Bangabandhu Award, Munir Chowdhury Award, Naren Biswas Medal and Meril-Prothom Alo Lifetime Achievement Award.
