The natural forest surrounded Altadighi national park of Dhamairhat of Naogaon getting popularity for its fascinating Shal forest and beautiful natural sight.
Nature lovers’ attention to the spot is being increased repeatedly after announcing as a National park, since two years last.
Although the Shal forest of the greater Dinajpur has been demolished during the liberation war, the 200 years old Altadighi shal forest on 1200 bighas of land is still attracting the nature lovers. Since the forest department has strictly controlled the illegal tree down and all kinds of collections this reserve wild land has been turned in to a green forest.
Around one kilometer long Alta Dighi forest, along with the Indian border, attracts tourists and nature lovers bringing a boundless attraction.
After the declaration of the national park, paved roads have been constructed from Dhamairhat to the forest and Altadighi. Various transport systems are available here. Different types of rare animals have been released in the shal forest.
Along with different festivals, Shal forest and Alta Dighi are the first choices of thousands of visitors to different parts of the country.
Ratan, a visitor from Joypurhat said, the Alatdighi National Park is undoubtedly one of the favorites to entertainment lovers. So it is necessary to keep adequate security in the tourism season. Visitors to the faraway need a rest house.
Lakhan Chandra Bhowmik, Dhamairhat forest bit officer, said that after the declaration the Altadighi profound with Shal forest and natural beauty, as the National Park, different animals of the rare species including oysters, mechho tigers, civet cats, sticks, monkeys, Entellus and Parrots have been released here.
