Ekushey Padak winner Polan Sarkar, also known as ‘Alor Ferrywala’ (the distributor of light) was laid beside the library. 

He was buried on Saturday around 10:30 pm at Harunur Rashid Shah Dimukhi High School premises at Bausa of Bagha in Rajshahi.  

Imam Hafiz Mohammad Abul Bashar, a Pesh Imam of Bausa Purbapara Jame Mosque of Bagha performed the Namaz-e-Janaza. After Janaza, he was buried beside the library which was built next to his house.   

‘Alor Ferrywala’ Polan Sarkar (Harez Uddin) died on Friday in his own residence. He was 98. 

He received the Ekushey Padak in 2011, started a social movement of reading books by reaching reader’s house and bought them book at his own money. 

On September 20, 2014, on the occasion of ‘Impact Journalism Day’, the stories of his read books movement was published on the main daily of different languages of the world. 

He has received many awards all over the country. A play named ‘Sayanhne Surjadoy’ was made a basis on him.
