Allama Shafi: Great scholar who received ‘Kiswah’ of Holy Kaaba

Hefazat-e-Islam Amir Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi
Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, Amir of Hefazat-e-Islam, received a gift of the Kiswah (Ghilaf-e-Kaaba) of the Holy Kaaba Sharif. Besides, he received numerous recognitions.
It is learned that he went to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, on his way back from London, on August 11, 2001. There, Sheik Salih bin Abdullah al Humaid, the director-general of Haram Sharif, presented him The Kiswah of the Holy Kaaba Sharif.
Hefazat-e-Islam Amir Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi has passed away on Friday evening at Asgar Ali Hospital in the capital (Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un). He was 104-years-old.
The news was confirmed by Anas Madani, son of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi.
Earlier on Friday around 4:30 pm, Hefazat-e-Islam Amir Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi was brought to Dhaka due to his deteriorating physical condition. Later, he breathed his last at Asgar Ali Hospital in the evening.
