‘All measures taken to ensure passengers safety at airport’

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md. Mahbub Ali said all measures have been taken at the airport to ensure the safety of passengers on domestic flights.
He said this while inspecting the internal terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday afternoon to see the preparations for starting the flight following the hygiene rules on the domestic route.
Mahbub Ali said, “I am requesting all the passengers to follow proper hygiene rules and ensure social distance while traveling by air.”
He said the construction work of the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport was started on December 26 last year and has been going on without any break since the inauguration by the Prime Minister.
“This work was going on even during the declared general holiday due to coronavirus in the country. As the progress of the work is satisfactory, the construction work of the third terminal will be completed within the stipulated time,” he also said.
Earlier, the State Minister was briefed on the arrangements for operating flights at the internal terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport following all hygiene rules. He also inspected the newly constructed extension of the internal terminal.
Senior Secretary Mahibul Haque and Air Vice Marshal Mofidur Rahman, chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) were present on the occasion.
