Law enforcement agencies recently held a surveyor of the Land Acquisition Branch of Cox’s Bazar District Administration with a huge amount of money. In view of that, Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury has ordered all the employees of the Land Acquisition Branch of the district to take necessary steps for immediate transfer.

30 officials working in the Land Acquisition Branch of Cox’s Bazar District Administration were transferred on Thursday by three separate notices of the Ministry of Land. Of these — 4 are additional land acquisition officers, 7 Kanungo, and 19 surveyors.

The notification states that the officials will be discharged from the current workplace by March 5. Otherwise, they will be considered as ‘absent’ from the current workplace.

In addition, a letter from the Ministry of Land has been sent to the Chattogram Divisional Commissioner for filing the report after completing a full investigation into the matter within the next 15 working days.

Meanwhile, two other surveyors who are still absconding over the incident — attempts to arrest them are underway. In addition, RAB-15 said they have found an organized syndicate for bribery transactions.
