All courts to remain closed in 2nd phase holidays

All the subordinate courts in the country including the Supreme Court have declared a general holidays from April 5 to April 9, in order to prevent coronavirus transmission, and a notification in this regard has been issued this evening.

Supreme Court, the highest legal body of Bangladesh made the notification issued by Registrar General Ali Akbar on Wednesday evening.

Earlier, public holidays were announced in all courts in the country, including the Supreme Court, from March 29 to April 2.

Mohammad Barrister Saifur Rahman, a spokesman for the Supreme Court and Special Officer of the High Court Division, said the government has declared a general holiday due to coronavirus. In view of this, the leave has been announced at the behest of the Chief Justice.

Earlier, the Chief Justice's address program for all district and Sessions Judges, Metropolitan Sessions Judges, Chief Judicial Magistrates and Metropolitan Chief Judicial Magistrates in view of the coronavirus, which was scheduled to be held on 4th April, has been postponed.
