34 Rohingya camps in Ukhiya-Teknaf area of Cox’s Bazar has been ‘locked down’ to prevent coronavirus infection.

Confirming the matter on Wednesday night, Refugees Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Mahbubul Alam Talukder said the decision was taken as the Rohingya camps are densely populated. There are strict surveillances to prevent anyone from entering the camps. “Only emergency activities will continue.”

The district administration has locked down the entire Cox’s Bazar district since Wednesday. Due to this, the Rohingya camps are also under lockdown, Mahbubul Alam Talukder also said.
