All 4 accused of Hyderabad rape-murder killed in encounter

The all four who accused of setting on fire a young female veterinarian after completing rape and murder were killed in an encounter while escaping from police custody on Friday morning in Hyderabad, India. 

The incident took place near Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana. All four accused tried to flee, the police were forced to fire and acknowledged the responsibility for the incident. 

The deceased were — Mohammed Arif, 26, Jollu Shiva, 20, Jollu Naveen, 20, and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu, 20 --  News - NDTV, Times of India. 

Hyderabad police said that the four accused were being taken to the spot on Thursday night around 3:00 am in need of an investigation. When they tried to escape, they were shot who were taken into police custody on Wednesday. Top sources of the Hyderabad police confirmed that the accused had been shot dead by police. 

“They were killed in the crossfire. They tried to snatch weapons from the guards but were shot dead,” Prakash Reddy, a deputy commissioner of police in Hyderabad, said. 

The young lady, the 26-year-old Hyderabad veterinarian, was riding a scooty through the Shadnagar area on the way back from work last Wednesday night. When the scooter’s tire burst down at the road, she sought help from the alleged two truck drivers. Later they raped the young woman being caught her in their trap. The next morning, the police recovered the burnt body.

Police said the accused youths planned for raping when Priyanka was found standing with her scooty at a local toll plaza around 9:30 pm on Wednesday.

Thousands of people of Telangana protested to demand to hand over the arrested rapists to the public. On Saturday, they staged a raid around the Shadnagar police station about 50 kilometers from Hyderabad.
