Ahmed Shafi`s body reached Ctg

The body of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, Amir of Hefazat-e-Islam has been brought to Chattogram. The body reached Hathazari Darul Uloom Madrasa by ambulance at 9.30 am on Saturday.
His eldest son Maulana Mohammad Yusuf confirmed the information to Daily Bangladesh.
He said that after showing the family, the body was kept in the grounds of the madrasa for public homage. He will be buried at Maqbaraye Habibia next to the madrasa after Johar prayers after performing Janaza.
Earlier, Hefazat-e-Islam Amir Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi has passed away at Asgar Ali Hospital in the capital (Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un) this evening. He was 104-years-old.
Allama Shafi’s physical condition suddenly deteriorated on Thursday evening. He was later admitted to the ICU of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH). As his condition deteriorated further, he was brought to Dhaka Asgar Ali Hospital by air ambulance on Friday afternoon.
Meanwhile, 10 platoon BGB along with RAB-police have been deployed in four upazilas of Chattogram, Hathazari, Patia, Rangunia, and Fatikchhari; to ensure smooth completion of burial formalities. Led by seven executive magistrates of the district administration, four platoons are on duty in Hathazari, two platoons in Patiya, two platoons in Rangunia, and two platoons in Fatikchhari.
