5 missing bodies were recovered from different points of the Agunmukha River
The bodies of five people including a constable who went missing after a speedboat capsized in the Agunmukha River at Rangabali in Patuakhali have been recovered on Saturday morning.
Their bodies were recovered, two days after the incident, floating from different points of Agunmukha River in the morning.
The deceased have been identified as Rangabali police constable Mahibullah, Krishi Bank Rangabali Baherchar branch inspector Mostafizur Rahman, NGO ASA’s Rangabali’s Khalgoda branch loan officer Humayun Kabir, Hasan of Amkhola in Galachipa, and Imran of Kanakdia in Bauphal.
Rangabali UNO Md. Mashfaqur Rahman said the bodies of five people who went missing in a speedboat sinking were recovered from different points of Agunmukha River in the morning.
Earlier on Thursday at around 4:30 pm, a speedboat with 16 passengers left Koralia in Rangabali for Panpatti in Galachipa in defiance of the ban. Later, the speedboat capsized in the middle of the river. 13 passengers, including the driver, swam to shore, but five were still missing.
