Afghan umpire killed in suicide bombing

Afghan umpire Bismillah Shinwari, ACB officials elite umpire, along with his seven family members were killed in a bomb blast that leaving another 40 injured in Ghanikhil district in the eastern province of Nangarhar on Saturday afternoon.
The Nangarhar governor’s spokesperson confirmed the casualties and said some gunmen wanted to enter the district governor’s compound but were killed by security forces.
However, some other reports said that it was suicide attack that left 15 killed including the seven members of Shinwari’s family and 40 others injured.
Bismillah Shinwari, 36, served as an empire in six One-Day Internationals and Six T20 International from 2017 to 2020.
He also gave demerit points to Bangladesh fast bowler Rubel Hossain in a match of Bangladesh-Afghanistan T20 series held last year.
In addition to this series, Bismillah has also officiated the Afghanistan-West Indies series.
