Afghan forces attack killed 20 Taliban in Helmand

At least 20 Taliban members were killed in an attack carried out by the Afghan Air Force in Afghanistan’s southern Helmand Province, officials said.
The Helmand Provincial governor’s press office said in a statement.
The Taliban’s local Deputy Governor Mawlawi Ghafoor was captured alive by the National Directorate of Security (NDS).
The attack carried out in the Nawa-I-Barakzayi district of Helmand, the statement said.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the attack. Earlier, there were severe clashes between Afghan forces and the Taliban in Helmand.
Residents of Nad-e-Ali district have sought refuge in the town of Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province, amid escalating violence, a civilian source told news agency Sputnik.
