Actor Farooque diagnosed with TB

National Award winning actor and Member of Parliament Farooque, popularly known as 'Miyabhai' of Dhakai cinema, has taken to Singapore's Mount Elizabeth Hospital for better treatment after falling seriously ill. After doing some tests there, he was diagnosed with tuberculosis (TB) in his blood.

Actor Farooque himself confirmed the development on Monday evening. The Dhallywood actor is accompanied by his wife Farhana Farooque in Singapore.

After being admitted to the hospital, Farooque and his wife Farhana Farooque had to complect 14 days quarantine due to coronavirus. During the time they used to talk over phone. They already completed the 14-day quarantine tenure. 

Farooque said, "This is the first time in our married life of 28-29 years that we have been separated for so long. Not even close to the room as well. The wife was quite worried about me. Finally, the quarantine is over, we get some relief now.

Regarding the treatment, Farooque said, "Alhamdulillah, I am doing well. Several tests have been done. The disease that has not been diagnosed so far has been caught. I have TB in my blood and treatment is being carried out here under the supervision of four experts including doctor Lai Chung. They will keep me under observation for four weeks. So I want blessings from everyone."

Actor Farooque gained a good reputation in Dhallywood cinema by acting in the golden age. The real name of the film actor is Akbar Hossain Pathan Dulu. He is the current MP of Dhaka-17 constituency.
