Popular actor Abdul Kader was laid to rest beside his mother’s grave at Banani Graveyard in the capital on Saturday after Maghrib prayer.
Earlier, his first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Mirpur DOHS Central Mosque in the capital after the Zuhr prayer. The first Namaz-e-Janaza was attended by the actor’s relatives, kinsmen and worshipers of the mosque.
Later, Abdul Kader’s body was taken to Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. People from all walks of life paid homage to him with floral wreaths. After the homage, his body was taken to Banani Mosque. He was buried there after the third Namaz-e-Janaza.
The country’s renowned actor Abdul Kader breathed his last at 8:20 am on Saturday (December 26) while undergoing treatment at the Evercare Hospital in the capital.
Abdul Kader, popularly known as ‘Badi’, was born in the Sonarang village of Tongibari police station in Munshiganj district. His father was the late Abdul Jalil and his mother is the late Anwara Khatun. He is survived by his wife Khairunnesa Kader, a son and a daughter and numerous admirers and friends, including grandchildren.
