Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that if anyone from the Awami League commits irregularities, corruption, he is also being monitored.

“It is not only against the Jubo League or the Chhatra League, who are involved in irregularities and the cause of which the party’s image is degraded — action will be taken against them,” he said this at the political office of the Awami League president at Dhanmondi in the capital on Friday.

Obaidul Quader said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is against misconduct. She has adopted a zero tolerance policy against wrongdoing, demoralization and misconduct. So the action has started from the very beginning.

He said the BNP government has never taken action against corruption. Sheikh Hasina is doing what the BNP couldn’t do. This is an example for Bangladesh. Through this, the image of the Awami League will increase.

Warning for those who will commit these offenses in the future, he said that if anyone was doing wrongdoing or sheltered, the police would not play the role of a silent visitor from now on.

In response to BNP leader Shamsuzzaman Dudu’s statement, he said, BNP leaders have given many false statements in the past. “We wanted to know from Fakhrul if this was the statement of their party.”
