Action to be taken against Nur as per law: HM

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Tuesday said that legal action will be taken against Nurul Haq Nur, former vice-president (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU).
“A case has been filed against Nur. Police are investigating. We have all the knowledge. The police are investigating the way the address needs to be done. Action will be taken as per the law,” he told reporters when asked about the case filed against Nur after a program at the Police Staff College in Mirpur in the capital.
Former DUCSU VP Nurul Haq Nur was arrested on Monday around 8:30 pm. He was arrested on charges of rape as well as the assault on police. He was then taken to the DB office. Shortly afterward, he was released.
A student of Dhaka University (DU) filed the case with Lalbagh Police Station on the night of September 20. A total of six people have been charged in the case. Among them, Nur has been mentioned as an accomplice in the rape.
