According to the court, the body of the ninth grade student of Dhaka Residential Model College, Naimul Abrar, was lifted out of the grave.

His body was exhumed from the grave under the leadership of Executive Magistrate Elishay Risil from the family cemetery of Maulana Mohammad Ullah, in Dhanapur village of Sonapur UP in Noakhali’s Sonaimuri Upazila around noon on Saturday in the presence of four police personnel including the investigation officer of the case Md. Abdul Alim, police Inspector of Muhammadpur police station.

Sonomauri UNO Tina Pal and Sonaimuri Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdus Samad supervised the whole matter in the presence of curious crowds.

Sonapur UP chairman Alamgir Hossain was also present at the time.

The investigating officer of the case said that the body will be sent to Noakhali General Hospital for autopsy.

Earlier, the fourth Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Aminul Haque on Wednesday placed an order to exhume the body.

Abrar’s father Md. Mujibur Rahman filed a case against the editor of the Daily Prothom Alo, blaming its mismanagement following the death of the Dhaka Residential Model College’s student Naimul Abrar being electrocuted during the daily’s ‘Kishul Alo’ event held at the college premises on November 1. Later, the court accepted the statement of the plaintiff and ordered the autopsy from lifting the body from the grave. At the same time, the court asked to investigate the complaint filed by Abrar’s father along with the unnatural death case. The court has directed the OC of Mohammadpur police station to submit an investigation report to the court by December 1.

Saudi expatriate Mojibur Rahman’s son Abrar hailed from a Dhanyapur village of Sonapur UP under Sonaimuri Upazila in Noakhali lived in Agargaon in Dhaka with other family members.
