Abdul Mannan’s namaz-e-janaza on Monday

The namaz-e-janaza of Bogura-1 constituency MP and former Awami League organizational secretary Abdul Mannan will be held on Monday at South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad building. 

His body will be kept for a while to pay homage after the namaz-e-janaza at 10:00 am. Later, the body will be taken to Sonatala by helicopter. After another funeral there, he will be buried in Sariakandi, his home district.   

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader told this on Saturday morning.

Earlier, upon hearing the news of Abdul Mannan’s death, Obaidul Quader visited LabAid Hospital and talked to Abdul Mannan’s family there.

Obaidul Quader told reporters, “I talked to Prime Minister regarding Abdul Mannan’s issue. Abdul Mannan’s daughter is in California, USA. She will return home tomorrow night (Sunday). So for this, the body of Abdul Manna will be kept at BIRDEM’s mortuary.” 

Bogura-1 MP Abdul Mannan died while undergoing treatment at the ICCU at LabAid Hospital in the capital at 6:00 am on Saturday morning. He was a former organizational secretary of the Bangladesh Awami League. He also served as the president of the Awami League student body Chhatra League. 

Abdul Mannan was elected MP for the first time in the ninth parliamentary election in 2008. Later, he also won the tenth parliamentary elections in 2014. He was elected MP for the third time after winning the 11th parliamentary elections held in 2018.
