AL new committee pay tribute at Bangabandhu’s tomb

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj. The Awami League's newly elected central executive committee and advisory council members paid also paid tribute at the tomb of Bangabandhu.

They paid homage to the Father of the Nation by offering wreaths at Bangabandhu's tomb on Friday noon.

At first, Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina paid homage to the father of the nation's tomb. After offering a wreath on the altar of the tomb, the Prime Minister stood there for some time to pay homage to this great architect of independence.

Later, Sheikh Hasina, along with members of the Awami League's Central Executive Committee and Advisory Council, paid tribute by another floral offering on the altar of the tomb.

They recited Fateha and took part in a special prayer, seeking the peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu.

Earlier in the morning, the Prime Minister arrived at Tungipara in Gopalganj, the paternal residence of the father of the nation, in a helicopter of Bangladesh Air Force.

On reaching Tungipara, the Prime Minister recited the Holy Quran and Fateha at the tomb of Bangabandhu.

Sheikh Hasina was elected as the ninth president and Obaidul Quader was elected the second time general secretary at the 21st National Council of Bangladesh Awami League, one of the oldest and largest political organizations in the subcontinent on December 20 and 21 last.
