AL announces candidate in five by-elections

The ruling party Awami League has finalized the party candidate for the by-elections of the recently vacated five parliamentary seats and the election of Chattogram City Corporation.

The decision was made at a meeting of the parliamentary nominated board at the Ganobhaban, the official residence of the Prime Minister of the Awami League, on Saturday night. The Awami League president presided over the meeting.

Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, former president of the FBCI gets nomination in Dhaka-10 constituency, Umme Kulchum Smriti, general secretary of the Krishak League gets nomination in Gaibandha-3, Amirul Isalm Milon in Bagerhat-4, Shahadara Mannan, wife of the late MP, Abdul Mannan gets nomination in Bogura-1, and district Awami League general secretary Shahin Chakladar gets nomination in Jashore-6 constituency.

Meanwhile, Chattogram City Corporation Awami League Joint General Secretary Rezaul Karim Chowdhury has been nominated for the Chattogram City Corporation election mayoral post.
