AFC Cup postponed

The AFC executive committee on Sunday postponed this year’s AFC Cup due to complexities created by COVID-19. 

Bashundhara Kings took preparation ahead of the competition, they were due to fly at 6 pm on Sunday. Everyone also took a corona negative certificate to go to play in the AFC Cup. But at the eleventh hours, the tournament was postponed which came to a bolt from the blue. 

The South Asian Zone Games were scheduled to be held in Male, Maldives from May 14 to 20. However, the Maldivian government abruptly requested the AFC to suspend the game. Due to this, the AFC has announced the postponement of the tournament.

Earlier, India's Mohun Bagan had appealed to the AFC not to play in Group D. In the same group, Bashundhara Kings were accompanied by Mohun Bagan of India, Majia Sports of the Maldives and a team that won the play-offs.
