ACC to interrogate Shahed at jail gate

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) will interrogate Regent Hospital Chairman Shahed Karim at the jail gate on charges of illegal acquisition of assets and fraud.
ACC director Sheikh Md. Fanafillah sought permission for interrogation on Wednesday. Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge KM Imrul Kayes granted permission.
ACC Public Prosecutor Mosharraf Hossain Kajal said the ACC led by Fanafillah is investigating into allegations such as personal assets, income tax evasion, took loan by fake identity, providing fake coronavirus sample test against Md. Shahed alias Md. Shahed Karim. “Since Shahed is now in jail in another case, they asked him for permission to interrogate at jail gate. The court granted it,” he added.
Earlier on July 6, RAB raided the Regent Hospital in Uttara. At the end of the operation, on July 7, RAB sealed two branches of the hospital in Uttara and Mirpur and filed a case against 17 people including Shahed.
On July 15, RAB arrested Shahed from Satkhira border area with illegal weapons. Meanwhile, a chargesheet has been filed against Shahed under arms case on July 30.
