The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) sent a letter to the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Mizanur Rahman on 3 May on charges of illegal acquisition of wealth and corruption.
The ACC was sent the letter along with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to the ACC on Wednesday.
In the letter, Mizanur was asked to appear at the head office of Segunbagichar at 9.30 in the morning on May 3.
ACC deputy director Farid Ahmed Patwari is investigating the allegations of acquiring illegal assets and allegations of corruption against Mizanur.
Mizanur has requested the IGP to appear before the ACC in the due time by issuing the letter sent by the ACC.
DIG Mizanur was working as Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Earlier in January, Mizanur Rahman was withdrawn from the DMP headquarters and attached to the Police headquarters following the allegation of marrying a woman forcefully and torturing her.
Mizan allegedly picked up Morium Akter and forcefully married her. Later following a family feud Mizanur instigated arrest of Morium in a false case.
Finally, a news correspondent accuses against Mizanur of threatening and harassing her.
