Onion trucks entered through Bhomra port
A total of 46 metric tons of Indian onions entered into Bangladesh through Bhomra land port of Satkhira on Tuesday. In four days, 971 metric tons of onions arrived in 43 trucks through this port.
Mostafizur Rahman Nasim, General Secretary of the Bhomra C&F Agents Association, confirmed the information on Tuesday evening.
He said 43 trucks of onions with full paperwork had entered through Bhomra land port till September 14. However, most of the onions got rotten due to being stuck for about a week.
Earlier, 96 metric tons of onions in 4 trucks on Monday, 106 metric tons in 5 trucks on Sunday, and 721 metric tons in 31 trucks on Saturday entered Bhomra port through Ghojadanga, India.
Mohsin Hossain, revenue officer of Bhomra land port, said 971 metric tons of Indian onions had entered Bhomra port till Tuesday evening.
