9,221 tonnes rise distributed among flood-affected people

9,221 metric tonnes of rice have been distributed so far among the flood-affected people across the country in 33 districts due to the recent heavy rains. The total allocation is 14,410 metric tons of rice.
According to an official release on Sunday, Tk 3,44,50,000 has been allocated in cash as per the information received from the flood-hit district administrations. 2,29,08,700 have been distributed so far.
Tk 1.10 crore has been allocated as baby food aid and Tk 62.54 lakh have been distributed so far. Tk 2.78 crore has been allocated for the purchase of fodder and the distribution amount has been Tk 1,20,06,000. Besides, 1.52 lakh packets of dry and other food have been allotted and 1, 11,922 have distributed so far.
In addition to this, 300 bundles of the corrugated iron sheets have been allotted and so far 100 bundles have been distributed, Tk 9 lakh has been allotted for house grant and Tk 3 lakh has been distributed.
The government has opened 1,533 flood shelter centers in the flood-prone areas where 63,409 people have taken refuge.
In the flood-affected district, a total of 967 medical teams have been formed where 399 of them are functioning.
The flood-affected districts include Dhaka, Gazipur, Tangail, Manikganj, Faridpur, Munshiganj, Gopalganj, Rajbari, Madaripur, Shariatpur, Kishorganj, Mymensingh, Netrokona, Jamalpur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Brahmanbaria, Rajshahi, Naogaon, Natore, Sirajganj, Bogra, Rangpur, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Gaibandha, Lalmonirhat, Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Hobiganj and Sunamganj.
