900 Rohingyas leave Ukhia for Bhasan Char

As many as 900 Rohingyas have left Cox's Bazar's Ukhia refugee camp for Noakhali's Bhasan Char in the fourth phase on Sunday. A total of 22 buses carrying the Rohingyas started their journey from Ukhia College Grounds at around 12:00 pm.
These Rohingyas will stay in Chattogram today. They will leave for Bhasan Char by ship under the supervision of the Bangladesh Navy at 9:00 am on Monday.
In the fourth phase, the residents of Balukhali Camp No-8 (East), 9, 10, 11, 12, and 18 of Ukhia are going to Bhasan Char. In this phase, more than 3,000 Rohingya women, men and children are to be relocated to Bhasan Char.
Earlier, Rohingyas were relocated to Bhasan Char in three phases. Besides, 306 more Rohingyas heading to Malaysia illegally were rescued from the sea and sent to Bhasan Char.
Preparations are underway to relocate another group of Rohingyas from the Ukhia-Teknaf camp to Bhasan Char in the fifth phase in the last week of this month.
