9 Tablig members quarantined at mosque

Nine Tablig members have been placed under quarantine at a mosque in Ballavpur of Patuakhali Sadar upazila for 14 days after arrival for Zamat.

Mahbubul Islam, Executive Magistrate of district commission issued the directive on Sunday night.

He told Daily Bangladesh that the 9 Muslims had visited different parts of the country in the last 86 days. They have been kept in the mosque for 14 days in quarantine to prevent Coronavirus transmission. 

Patuakhali Civil Surgeon Mohammad Jahangir Alam said two more people were taken to the home quarantine in the last 24 hours. Currently, there are 33 in quarantine in the district. In the last 24 hours, the health department collected 15 samples. In addition to the20-bed institutional quarantine unit of the district headquarters, a 5-bed institutional quarantine unit has been opened in each upazila.

In addition, the district administration has ordered to close all shops in Patuakhali after 5 pm from Monday to ensure social distance to prevent the transmission of the Coronavirus.
