Namita Ghosh, an artist of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, has died of coronavirus (Covid-19). She was 65-years-old.

She breathed her last at a hospital in the capital on Friday night.

Confirming the matter, Namita Ghosh’s sister Kabita Ghosh said her sister’s body has been kept at the cold storage in BIRDEM.

A guard of honor will be given to the vocal-fighter during the Great Liberation War at 11:00 am on Saturday at the Pogoj School premises in the capital. However, no decision has been yet taken about her last rites, said Kabita Ghosh.

Earlier, Namita Ghosh was admitted to the hospital on March 16 after contracting coronavirus. She last performed in a music event on Bangladesh Television on March 12.
