7,000 metric tons of Indian rice reached in-country

A total of 7,000 metric tons of rice imported from India has reached the country. The consignment of rice reached the country through Darshana railway port in Chuadanga on Wednesday morning. At noon, rice imported from Darshana International Railway Yard left for Santahar, Pabna.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Indian freight train loaded with 7,190 metric tonnes of imported rice in 122 wagons at 3 RACs left for Bangladesh. The train arrived at Darshana port in the morning. Later the Railway and Customs officials complected the unloading process following Covid-19 health guidelines. After unloading the rice was taken to Santahar in Pabna.

Wagons will be unloaded at Santahar station. There is a committee of supervisors to officially unload the product rice. It is learned that they will be engaged in checking the quality of the rice and delivering it.
