7 workers killed as paddy-laden trolley overturns in C’nawabganj

Seven workers were killed when a paddy-laden trolley overturned at the Sakopara area in ​​Shibganj Upazila of Chapainawabganj. Another five people were injured in the incident.

The accident happened near Vanga Sako at Sona Masjid Barek Bazar Road on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as - Abul Kashem, son of Nawsad Ali, Babu, son of Iman Ali of the same area, Tajakul and his son Mithun, Qayem, son of Md. Kabil, Sishu, son of Amanur and Ataur Rahman, son of Rehman. All of them are the residents of Baliadighi village under Sona Masjid of Shibganj Upazila.

According to local and fire service sources, the workers were going to Baliadighi of Sona Masjid by a trolley after cutting paddy from Naogaon. Seven workers were killed and five others injured when the trolley overturned near a Vanga Sako on the way.

Shibganj Police Station SI Azim said all the victims were paddy workers from Baliadighi village of Sona Masjid. “On information, Shibganj Fire Service officer Quader Siddique’s unit rushed to the spot and rescued the injured and took them to the Upazila hospital,” he added.
