7 injured in Tangail over land dispute

Seven people were injured over a land dispute between two groups at Sakhipur of Tangail today.

This incident happened on Saturday afternoon in Nalua Deodighi Bazar area. The injured were admitted to the Sakhipur Upazila Health Complex. Two of them are in critical condition.

The injured are Bakela Begum, Abdul Karim, son of Abdus Chattar, Badal Mia, son of Sobe Mia, Kamal Hossain, son of Momir Mia, Hasina Akhter, wife of Mosharraf Hossain and Majnu Mia and his wife Jahanara Begum. Among the injured the condition of Abdul Karim and Badal Mia is critical.

There had been a longstanding dispute between Bakela Begum's family, wife of Sanowar Hossain of Nalua village and Manju Mia of in the same area. Both sides also filed separate cases in the court. The clash erupted when Manju Mia went to possession Bakela Begum's house with his men.

Bakela Begum said, living in my native land for the last 20 years. In the afternoon, Majnu came to force his people to take possession of the house. At this time, I was seriously injured by others while I was interrupted.

Sakhipur Police Station OC Amir Hossain said, "We have not received any complaint." If the complaint is received, legal action will be taken after the investigation.
