7 deaths, 469 cases reported from Covid-19 in 24hrs

Bangladesh reported 7 more deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the tally from the pandemic to 27,785.

On the other hand, the total caseload stood at 15,66,296 as 469 more tested positive for the virus during the same time, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in its routine daily statement on Tuesday.

Of the 7 deaths in the past 24 hours, 5 are male and 2 are female.

The current positivity rate is 2.20 percent while the total positivity rate is 15.45 percent.

A total of  21,308 samples were tested at 815 centers across the country in the last 24 hours.

In the past 24 hours, 697 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 15,29,068.

The DGHS statistics showed of the people infected from the beginning, 97.62 percent recovered, while 1.77 percent died.

Earlier, 10 people died of Covid-19 and 399 new cases were reported yesterday.

The highest single-day deaths 264 from Covid-19 were reported on Tuesday (August 10).

Bangladesh reported the first Covid-19 cases on March 8, 2020, and the first death from the virus was reported on March 18.
