7-day partial lockdown imposed in Narail

The Narail district administration has decided to hold a one-week “partial lockdown” in the district due to the increase in coronavirus infection. The lockdown will be effective from Saturday.
Earlier, the decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the District Coronavirus Prevention Committee in the DC’s conference room at 8 pm on Friday.
In Narail, the district administration has announced lockdown in UPs, including three municipal areas of the district, where Covid-19 cases have increased.
The meeting informed that the lockdown will continue for seven days from Saturday from 6 pm to 8 am. The lockdown will continue in Narail Municipality, Lohagara Municipality and Kalia Municipality. Besides, lockdown will continue in Kalora, Shinga Sholpur, Bichali UP and Shal Nagar UP of Lohagara.
Besides, Lohagara and Kalia upazila administrations will take necessary measures
considering the transmission of coronavirus.
It was informed at the meeting that strict action would be taken by the police including running a mobile court to ensure 100 percent mask-wearing by the district administration to prevent coronavirus.
Narail DC Md. Habibur Rahman said the rate of infection has suddenly increased as some India-returnee people have secretly entered the district through the border districts. “A partial lockdown has been announced for now. A lockdown may be declared in the entire district later considering the situation,” he added.
