7 cops have been killed as Taliban militants attacked a police checkpoint in the Khan Abad district of Afghanistan's northern Kunduz province. Four others are also missing in since the attack.
District official Kudratullah Safi said on Saturday that Taliban militants attacked a security checkpoint in the Dagari area of Khan Abad district early Saturday local time. He said the four missing policemen were believed to be being held hostage by militants.
Locals in the area have also confirmed the incident. They said clashes between Taliban militants and local police lasted for more than an hour in the village of Dagri on Saturday morning. Locals also said that both groups suffered casualties in the clash.
However, Taliban has not commented on the attack during the Afghan peace talks in Doha.
