68 gold bars recovered from airplane

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department seized 68 gold bars from under the seat of a flight from Abu Dhabi at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The gold bar was seized at 10:15 am on Friday. The seized gold weighs 7 kg 888 g. Its market value is approximately 4 crore 73 lakh rupees.
Sources in the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department said that on the basis of a tip-off received by the director general of the department, the customs detectives continued to monitor the situation at various points in the airport. A search in the BG-028 flight from Abu Dhabi at 10:20 am recovered 68 gold bars hidden under the seats.
Sources further said that action has been taken under the Customs Act regarding the seized gold. A case is being prepared in this regard.
