617 bank accounts of Papul, wife, daughter, sister-in-law ordered to freeze

A Court ordered to freeze 617 bank accounts and 92 deeds of immovable properties of four people including Laxmipur-2 MP Mohammad Shahid Islam alias Kazi Papul in a case filed by Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
Court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayes passed the order on Sunday.
Earlier, the ACC submitted a petition for freezing of 617 bank accounts and immovable properties of four persons including Papul.
The other persons are - Papul's wife reserve seat lawmaker Selina Islam, their daughter Wafa Islam, and Papul's sister-in-law Jesmin Prodhan.
On November 11, ACC Deputy Director Mohammad Salahuddin filed the case against Papul and three others with its Integrated District Office-1 of Dhaka for allegedly acquiring illegal assets worth more than Tk 2.31 billion.
