60 students get free self-defense training in Rangamati

A three-day free women’s self-defense strategy training workshop organized by the voluntary organization ‘Swapnobunon’ in collaboration with the Rangamati district administration to protect women has ended in Rangamati’s gymnasium premises on Monday afternoon.
Rangamati DC AKM Mamunur Rashid distributed certificates among the participants after the workshop.
AKM Mamunur Rashid said rape and sexual harassment were taking place in different parts of the country. To protect women from these incidents, we have arranged three days of self-defense training in Rangamati in collaboration with the district administration. The voluntary organization ‘Swapnobunon’ has arranged the workshop. The training teaches women how to protect themselves with various tools.
Nur Talukder Munna, President of ‘Swapnobunon’ organization, said the training was organized aiming to prepare women to protect them from any adverse situation. We are thinking to organize more workshops like this.
About 60 students from different educational institutions of the district took part in the three-day women’s self-defense strategy training workshop.
Fatema Tuz Johra, UNO of Rangamati Sadar, Nur Talukder Munna, President of ‘Swapnobunon’ organization, and others were present at the certificate distribute ceremony.
