At least 60 people have been killed in an overnight drive conducted by security forces on anti-junta protesters in Myanmar on Friday.
According to the international media, the families of the victims or the locals could not recover the bodies of all the victims. It has been alleged that most of the bodies were taken away by security forces.
Witnesses said junta forces used machine guns, grenades and mortars in addition to guns to quell the protests.
"We were able to collect only three bodies by 8:00 pm," said a local resident. The rest were taken by the army and gathered at the Jayamuni Pagoda and a nearby school.
