6 of a family including women, children burnt in N’ganj cylinder explosion

Six members of the same family, including women and children, were burnt in a cylinder explosion on the sixth floor of a building in Fatullah, Narayanganj.
The incident took place in the Patenga area of Masdaire in the city on Monday night.
The burn victims have been admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in critical condition.
The burn victims are – garment factory worker Md. Mishal. his wife Mita Begum, daughter Afsana Akhter, one and a half-year-old child Minhaj, Mishal’s two brothers-in-law Md. Mahfuz and Sabbir Hossain.
Belal Hossain, station officer of Mandalpara Fire Station in Narayanganj, said the explosion took place when gas leaked from a cylinder. Six people including women and children of the same family were burnt. They have been admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
He added that most of the furniture in the flat was burnt in the fire. The incident is under investigation.
