6 killed in B’baria bus-microbus collision: Bus driver detained

Police have arrested the bus driver on Tuesday in connection with the six deaths in the bus and microbus collision at Bijoynagar in Brahmanbaria on Friday. 

The detainee was identified as Masud Rana, son of Nasir Uddin of Demra area in Dhaka.    

Confirming the arrest, Brahmanbaria Khatihata highway police station OC Mainul Islam said, “Masud Rana was arrested from Jatrabari area in Dhaka in the morning upon receiving information.” 

Earlier on March 6, Six people were killed on the spot and four others were injured in a bus and microbus collision at Bijoynagar in Brahmanbaria. All the victims were going to Sylhet Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) from Narayanganj.  

SI Premdhon Majumder filed a case with the Khatihata highway police station on March 7 accusing the bus driver and owner. “The bus speed was high,” stated in the case details.
