6 buses catch fire within an hour in the capital

As many as six buses caught fire in different parts of the capital within an hour between 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm on Thursday.
Among them, three buses caught fire in front of Awami League's central office at Motijheel, Press Club adjacent to Secretariat Junction and Bangabandhu Avenue and two in Shahbagh area.
Rozina Akhter, duty officer at the fire service headquarters, confirmed the information to Daily Bangladesh. However, the fire service official could not immediately say anything about the cause of the fire, damage and casualties.
She said that the fire service received the news of the fire in front of the central office of the Awami League at around 1:30 pm. Shortly afterwards, a bus caught fire in Shahbag. On information, a firefighting unit was sent in front of Shahbagh Aziz Super Market at 1:37 am.
Meanwhile, a unit of the fire service was sent to Press Club adjacent to Secretariat Junction at 2:10 pm, she said.
Rozina Akhter said the fire in front of the Awami League party office and in Shahbag has been extinguished. Firefighters are working to extinguish the fire of the bus at the press club.
