Bangladesh reported 51 more deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the tally from the pandemic to 27,058.
On the other hand, the total caseload stood at 15,36,341 as 1,901 more tested positive for the virus during the same time.
It was said in a press release signed by professor Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General (Administration), Directorate General of Heal10th Services (DGHS) on Wednesday.
Dhaka division alone saw 20 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours while Chattogram division reported 11 deaths and Khulna division recorded 5 deaths during the same time.
DGHS said 6.64 percent of the 28,615 samples collected in 24 hours were tested positive.
The recovery count rose to 14,90,541 after another 3,873 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the same time.
The DGHS statistics showed of the people infected from the beginning 97.02 percent recovered, while 1.76 percent died.
The highest single day deaths 264 from Covid-19 were reported on Tuesday (August 10).
The first Covid-19 cases were reported in Bangladesh on March 8, 2020 while the first death from the virus was reported on March 18.
